Kidsday interviews actress Jennifer Stone
\par
What is the best thing about being on the "Wizards of Waverly Place"? \par
\par
It is probably the people. The cast and crew, you have no idea, it is so cool. They are just such colorful people. We are such a big family.
\par
\par
Was it your idea to wear fruit on the show?
\par
\par
No, it wasn't actually. I've have gotten to the point where I will come up with ideas now. It is not so much fruit, it is themes. So I will ask, why don't we do a cowboy theme? I will have cowboy boots and cowboy hats. Now I have started coming up with the themes with a lot of help from the costume department.
\par
\par
Who is the biggest prankster on the set?
\par
\par
\par
Probably a tie between Jake and David. They both prank a lot.
\par
\par
Is it fun to be recognized in public?
\par
\par
Yes, it is a lot of fun. It is always great to see kids faces get lit up and see them get all excited when they are seeing you. And it is nice to know that they are people who enjoy your show. I don't have it so much that I cannot leave the house, but I have it just enough where it is enjoyable and it is really special. I think I am really lucky.
\par
\par
What was your favorite episode to be in?
\par
\par
That is a hard one! There are little bits and pieces I love from every episode. Probably one of my favorites is one coming up in the second season called "Future Harper." That is the one where we had Rachel Dratch. It was just so cool to see her work. It is where they visit the future me, and she plays future me. It was a good learning experience.
\par
\par
Are you like your character in real life?
\par
\par
\par
We definitely have our likes and differences. I think I am like her in the fact that I get really excited about silly things. I am really geeky that I get excited over really silly simple things. I am different in the fact that I am a bit more mellow than she is. She tends to get a little worked up. Our styles are definitely different. We both like to be creative with our styles and our clothes. Mine are bit more vintage inspired.
\par
\par
If you had to pick a character to be on show, who would it be?
\par
\par
I don't think I would have another character. I think I am good with Harper.
\par
\par
What age did you start acting?
\par
\par
I started acting when I was 6 or 7. I started in theater when I was 6. I came out to L.A. when I was 9. I have been working on it for a while.
\par
\par
Who inspired you to start acting?
\par
\par
\par
My brother. My mom took my brother to find something to do one summer besides play video games. He went for the paper and saw an ad for theater auditions. He went an auditioned and got the lead role and I sort of got dragged to a rehearsal and so I started doing theater. It sort of progressed from there.
\par
\par
Do you have any pets?
\par
\par
\tab\tab I do. I have two dogs, Snowball and Cocoa , and a rabbit named Salem.
\par
\par
What is your favorite food?
\par
\par
I really like chocolate chip cookie dough. It is so bad for you, but I just love it. It is that or white chocolate Reese's. I definitely have a sweet tooth.
\par
\par
Who would you want to have a special guest on the show?
\par
\par
We have had some really cool ones. Recently we had Rachel Dratch. If I could have any guest star I would probably want Johnny Depp. I am a big Johnny Depp fan and I have been since I was 10. That would be really farfetched.
\par
\par
What do you and your costars do for fun off set?
\par
\par
We are pretty boring. We usually go to movies. That is our big off-set activity, especially the horror movies. There are not many horrors movies we haven't seen with each other.
\par
\par
Did you get to slide in the chocolate?
\par
\par
\par
No. I got splashed by the chocolate a lot. There is one take we did where Selena had chocolate on her arm and went like this. And it went all over my face. I slipped in the chocolate a lot, but I didn't get to slide in it. Selena didn't slide in the chocolate, a stunt person did it.
\par
\par
Do you go to regular school?
\par
\par
I used to; I did K through fifth-grade. Then I started home schooling because it just got too difficult being pulled out of school and then being put back in school.
\par
\par
Do you play any sports?
\par
\par
I do. I was really athletic when I was little. I played volleyball, baseball, soccer. I played everything when I was little, but not so much anymore. Now I try to go to baseball games when I can or I try to do paintballing and surfing.
\par
\par
What is your favorite thing to do off set?
\par
\par
\par
It is probably watch old movies. I really like old Hollywood. So I will watch TCM all the time. Either that or reading. Like I said, we're pretty boring.
\par
\par
Did you like being in the hamster roll for the Disney Games?
\par
\par
I did! If you watch really closely you will see me take a head fall. It was my very first time in the hamster roll and everyone said it is so difficult. What can be hard about it is this big, inflatable ball. It is really difficult! I made it really well and then my feet got caught under me. And I tripped and I was kind of embarrassed. But, hey I crossed the finish line second or third.\par
